Cavallari vs. Cutler divorce: Marital misconduct

On Behalf of Law Office of Timothy S. Keough, P.A. | May 25, 2020 | Divorce

In Florida and elsewhere, celebrities can have marital problems just like anyone else. Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler are currently entangled in a divorce that just seems to keep getting messier. Cavallari has accused Cutler of “marital misconduct.”

Cutler is the one who filed for divorce back in April. When Cavallari responded to the petition, she claimed that Cutler’s behavior makes it unsafe for her and her three children to continue living with him. The term, “marital misconduct” often refers to adultery; however, in this case, it appears to mean something else.

Cavallari and Cutler have been raising their children in Tennessee. It is an “at fault” state regarding divorce, meaning, if Cavallari accuses Cutler of marital misconduct, she will have to prove her allegations in court. She has decided to quit her popular reality TV show, “Very Cavallari.” Those who are currently struggling in a marriage or considering filing for divorce may be able to relate to such a decision, as such situations can be stressful, making it difficult to concentrate on work.

A Florida spouse facing similar issues in divorce may find it helpful to discuss his or her situation with an experienced family law attorney. Strong legal support often helps alleviate the stress a spouse may be feeling when worrying about upcoming court proceedings or how to protect his or her rights and financial interests. Relying on experienced legal representation in court is often the first step toward achieving a favorable resoltuion.
